Brondesbury Park Residential Development

Delivering Complete Indoor Comfort with Nilan Compact P Systems

When a property developer approached Nuenta Clarke Talbot, they were looking for an integrated solution capable of providing heating, cooling, domestic hot water and ventilation across a mixed residential development comprising six apartments and three three-storey houses.

With extensive experience in low-energy residential projects, NCT quickly identified the ideal solution: the highly versatile Nilan Compact P Basic.

Building on a Strong Design Foundation

By the time NCT became involved, the project’s design work had already been completed to a good standard. The client had commissioned ventilation designs independently before approaching us to supply the units.

While reviewing the proposals, our team identified an opportunity to further improve the installation. The original design specified traditional 220mm x 90mm flat channel ducting throughout the development. Drawing upon practical installation experience, recommended switching to a semi-rigid radial ducting system, NCT’s preferred approach for residential developments.

The benefits of the radial system included simplified installation, improved airflow performance and easier balancing and commissioning. After discussing the advantages with the client, they agreed with the recommendation and ordered the complete ducting package directly from NCT.

Installation Across Nine Properties

Following receipt of the ductwork drawings, NCT commenced installation works across the development, which consisted of:

  • Six apartments ranging from one to three bedrooms
  • Three three-storey family homes

Thanks to detailed planning and close communication with the developer, the installation progressed smoothly across all properties. Throughout the project, the client was kept fully informed of progress, providing confidence that the systems were being installed to the highest standards.

Supporting the On-Site Team

Once the Nilan Compact P Basic units arrived on site, Ben Bradley attended to assist with positioning the units within the properties and to ensure everything was prepared for the next phase of work.

As the plumbing and electrical installations progressed, NCT continued to provide technical support and guidance, helping the site contractors integrate the systems correctly and ensuring all manufacturer’s requirements were met.

This collaborative approach allowed each trade to work efficiently while maintaining confidence that the completed systems would perform as designed.

Commissioning and Handover

The final stage of NCT’s involvement was the commissioning and control setup of every system across the development.

Upon completion of the build, Ben returned to site to undertake comprehensive airside commissioning, balancing each installation to ensure airflow rates met design requirements and that every Nilan unit was operating efficiently.

Following successful testing and commissioning, all necessary documentation was provided to the client, confirming compliance and performance. Airside testing results exceeded expectations, with all systems performing exceptionally well during commissioning.

Ongoing Support Beyond Completion

NCT’s relationship with the developer did not end at handover.

As part of our commitment to long-term customer support, we subsequently returned to carry out the first annual service required to maintain the Nilan warranty. Unlike many suppliers, NCT manages servicing and maintenance in-house, providing clients with direct access to the same technical expertise that supported the original installation.

The successful delivery of this project has also led to discussions regarding future developments, further strengthening the relationship built throughout the project.

More Than a Product Supplier

This project highlights the value of partnering with a specialist who can provide support throughout the entire lifecycle of a development.

From reviewing existing designs and recommending system improvements through to installation support, commissioning and ongoing servicing, NCT helped ensure every property benefited from a high-performing, energy-efficient indoor climate solution.

By combining practical installation experience with technical expertise, we continue to help developers deliver homes that are comfortable, efficient and ready for modern living.
