Elfofresh Evo2 MVHR with Radial Ducting System
We supplied and supported the installation of a Clivet Elfofresh Evo2 MVHR system with a radial ducting network in this high-performance, timber-framed new build home in Buckinghamshire.
THE REQUIREMENT
Pond Cottage is a high-specification, airtight new build designed for year-round comfort and low energy use. The client required a ventilation solution that would:
- Provide continuous fresh, filtered air
- Recover heat efficiently to reduce energy demand
- Protect the home from summer overheating
- Control humidity and reduce risk of condensation and mould
- Deliver a quiet, energy efficient system that complements the home’s design and performance
THE SOLUTION
The Clivet Elfofresh Evo2 was selected as the ideal solution. Unlike conventional MVHR units, the Elfofresh Evo2 combines mechanical ventilation with active thermodynamic heat recovery, using an integrated heat pump to recover, transfer, and when required, add or remove heat.
This provides:
- Continuous ventilation with high levels of heat recovery
- Active cooling in summer to help prevent overheating
- Humidity control for a healthier indoor environment
- Quiet operation and low energy consumption
- A single integrated unit to ventilate, heat and cool the home
DUCTING DESIGN & INSTALLATION
A radial ducting system was used throughout the property, with each supply and extract run designed to ensure balanced airflow to every room.
The installation included:
- Pre-insulated supply and extract ducts to minimise heat loss/gain
- Radial layout for even airflow distribution
- Low profile ducting routes through floor and ceiling voids
- Fully sealed and tested ductwork to maintain system performance
RESULTS & OUTCOMES
Since commissioning, the Elfofresh Evo2 system has delivered excellent results for the homeowners:
- Fresh, filtered air throughout the home
- Comfortable temperatures all year round, with cooling in summer and warmth in winter
- Effective humidity control, eliminating condensation and musty odours
