Nine Elms Residential Development
From Product Supply to Trusted Technical Partner
When the team behind the prestigious Nine Elms residential development first approached Nuenta Clarke Talbot, the requirement was straightforward: supply 204 Nilan Compact P and Compact S ventilation units for the project.
However, as discussions progressed, it quickly became clear that the client needed more than a distributor. Drawing upon many years of practical MVHR installation and commissioning experience, our team demonstrated the value that technical expertise can bring to a project of this scale.
Early Design Review Prevents Costly Issues
Before any equipment arrived on site, NCT Lead Project Technician, Ben Bradley, was invited to review the ventilation drawings that had been produced by a third party.
During this assessment, several issues were identified with proposed vent locations. Left unaddressed, these could have affected both system performance and installation efficiency. Ben provided detailed recommendations, enabling the client and ductwork contractors to amend the layouts before installation commenced.
Acting on this advice early in the project helped avoid potential delays and ensured the ventilation systems were set up for optimum performance from the outset.
Coordinated Delivery and Installation Support
With over 200 units required across the development, a carefully managed delivery programme was essential.
Working closely with the client’s site team, NCT developed a phased delivery schedule that aligned with the construction programme, ensuring equipment arrived when needed while minimising on-site storage requirements.
Over an eight-month period, all 204 Nilan units were successfully delivered and installed. Throughout this stage, Ben remained closely involved, providing technical support and guidance whenever required to ensure installations met Nilan’s specification and best practice standards.
Ensuring Every System Performs
Once installation was complete, attention turned to commissioning.
Ben attended site to balance and configure each system, ensuring airflow rates were correctly set and every unit was operating efficiently before handover to the building occupants.
This final stage is critical to achieving the indoor air quality, comfort and energy efficiency expected from a modern MVHR system. By carefully commissioning each unit, NCT helped ensure residents would benefit from reliable performance from day one.
A Trusted Long-Term Partner
The success of the project was built on more than equipment supply alone. Through proactive technical support, hands-on expertise and responsive customer service, NCT became a trusted part of the delivery team.
As a result, discussions are now underway regarding the future servicing and maintenance of the installed systems, allowing residents and building managers to continue benefiting from the same level of technical support long after project completion.
